Our RSO Project is designed to focus on the unique needs of the registered sex offender. Initially, we spent time with the group of sex offenders living under the Julia Tuttle Causeway in Miami, FL.

Currently we provide a home cooked meals and church services on Sunday and Monday for those sex offenders who are living at the Palace Mobile Home Park in Pinellas Park, FL. We also provide home cooked, boxed meals for the residents of the Butterfly Motel. 90% of the residents at this motel are registered sex offenders.

Home Cooked Meals

• Palace Mobile Home Park—Meal is served family style to an average 20-25 men and women every Sunday morning. In addition, 4-5 individuals receive “to go” meals as they are unable to attend the services for various reasons. We also provide 4 meals “to go” for a group of newspaper sellers on the way home.
• Butterfly Motel—25 meals are assembled in boxes and handed out to the residents of the Butterfly Motel. This includes registered sex offenders, permanent residents and the manager and his wife.

 Church Services

• Sunday Morning—After the meal a service is held. A resident provides music and David speaks.  Occasionally the attendance at the meal is higher than the service, but not very often and not by very many.
• Monday Evening—A weekly Bible study is held. Pizza is provided. Attendance at the Bible Study is approximately 60-75% of the Sunday Morning attendance.

(Currently all services are held in the clubhouse of the Palace Mobile Home Park. This creates some minor limitations due to size and the fact that residents that have been trespassed from the Park for various reasons are also barred from attending services.)

Food Pantry

Since November we have been given more food than we can use to cook and have therefore established a food pantry for the sex offenders.

2. Others on a referral basis/walkup

At this time the Pure Mercy pantry occupies nearly 1100 sq ft of floor space. This includes the use of 2 upright freezers, 2 chest freezers, 2 top/bottom refrigerators, 4 dunnage racks, 4 metro racks, and three metal cabinet.
